August 2, 2018 General Election
To Fill Judicial Vacancy
Chancellor, District 12
To the voters of Rhea County, TN, notice is given that due to a vacancy, the office of Chancellor, District 12 will be included in the general election to be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
Qualifying Deadline – Monday, June 18, 2018 at 12:00 noon
Withdrawal Deadline – Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 12:00 noon
- Judicial District 12 consists of Bledsoe, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Rhea and Sequatchie Counties.
- Nominating petitions for independent candidates interested in filling the vacancy may be obtained from any one of the county election commission offices.
- Independent candidates must file their original nominating petition in the office of the county election commission in the county of their residence and a certified duplicate in the county election commission office with the other five (5) counties included in Judicial District 12 no later than the qualifying deadline.
- Candidates interested in representing either the Republican or Democratic Party for the office of Chancellor, District 12 on the August 2, 2018 ballot must contact the chairman of their respective party to be considered for nomination. Political party nominees, if any, must be certified to the county election commission offices no later than the same qualifying deadline.
